Whimsical Ideas by Pam ~ Cookie Monster!

Hello Dahlings!

I was going to use this mani for an upcoming challenge prompt,
but it wasn't quite what I had in mind,
so you get to see it now!

This is 2 coats of the currently defunct Dead Set Babes Burn Book
with 2 coats of Whimsical Ideas by Pam Cookie Monster
on my ring finger as an accent.

I LOVE COOKIE MONSTER!
I now feel compelled to use it again soon
cuz it goes so well with my current hair color.

CNT 52 week PNM ~ Negative Space &/or 3 Pastels

Hello Dahlings!

This week da Tarts are doing negative space &/or using 3 pastel polishes.

My overlays aren't really all that great
for techniques that require partial nekkidness of da nail.
This last touch up has some unabsorbed clear acrylic powder
between da layers of gel that look like white damage spots.
My nails are fine, just not up to going nekkid.

So I went with 3 dark pastels from Paint Shop Polish
over a neutral from Carpe Noctem
CN will reopen this Friday, April 17th.

It's cute, but I feel that I need to do a mani
that will do these yummy dark pastels justice!
They all stamped just fine, tho I want to test them over dark polish.
Carpe Noctem Taupey Tips was a great base
with it's neutrality & soft rainbow.
2 coats of TT with a coat of SH Dries Instantly & I was ready to stamp.

with Carpe Noctem Taupey Tips.

& Betina plate B-10 to stamp with da PSPs.
Da Betina plate & lil flower gleequins were a thank you from Beautometry
for containing my wait problem until my pre-ordered products arrived.

Not my best effort, but it met da need.

I know you can pretty your claws better than dat, Meowmy.

New Hair & Nails to Match feat. The Devil Wears Polish!

Hello Dahlings!

Yep! I have a new hair color & nails that match.
Well, mostly match?

This dying did not go as planned.
This pic is the day after I dyed it.
I mixed 2oz of Ion Azure with an ounce of Ion Sky Blue,
both are from Sally Beauty Supply.
I told Mr Inky to use about half, maybe a lil more, when he did da back.
He used more like 3/4 to 4/5,
which didn't leave me enuf to do da top & sides.
So I added what was left of da Sky Blue (maybe 1/3 of an ounce)
& did da top of my head,
but realized that I still wouldn't have enuf to do da sides.
So I dug out my left over bottle of Special Effects Electric Blue
& added enuf to finish da job.

These next 2 pics are after da 1st shampoo wash.
Da blues lightened up a bit,
but da left over pink is playing peek-a-boo.

Hopefully as da blues fade, da pink will show more
& give me more purplish highlights.
It could happen!

On to da nails!

This blingtastic blue was nigh on a one coater!
I used 2 coats cuz 1 coat was a wee bit lighter than da bottle color.

my Creative Shop Stamper & TDWP Purp-fection to stamp.

 Um...yeah.
Purp-fection is a yummy dark blue violet
that isn't opaque enuf to stamp with & have it show.
It will make a fantabulous base color!

I really need to do another mani with this plate
cuz da kitties are just too cute!

>^. .^<

Really? What's wif da stick things again?

I gonna take them from you & den you can'ts eat wif dem!

Paw! Yu iz being annoyding!

CNT 52 Week PNM ~ Needle Drag & Burgundy/Maroon

Hello Dahlings!

This week da Tarts are doing needle drag nail art
&/or burgundy/maroon polish.
I can't needle drag to save myself! I don't know why, I just can't.
So I went with 'or' & painted my nails with one color of polish
& called it good enuf!
No my nails haven't been high jacked by aliens or anything weird,
I was just tired, feeling a bit whelmed by RL
& didn't want to tackle nail art that was most likely
going to end up a fail considering how I was feeling.

This is 2 butterlicious coats of The Devil Wears Polish Diva!
Burgundies & maroons say 'vampy' to me & this polish is all that.
Alas, Diva isn't currently available.

However, The Devil Wears Polish is now OPEN!
Tami brought back a few favs
& a lot of new pretties for us to dream & drool over.
So go get some!

>^. .^<

That's it?
You woke me up for just one polish with no nail art?

I'se goin' back to mah zzzzzzs.

Thanks for stopping by
& for some nifty nail art
go visit da other Tarts!

First Friday Frankens ~ I made stamping polish!

Hello Dahlings!

This month I have 3 made by me polishes to show you!

 Under da sea!

I started with 2 coats of Seafoam.
I made this one from white base & craft pigment.
It has a subtle shimmer lurking in its minty fresh depths.

Da glitter on my ring finger has a bit of a tale...
It started out an aqua jelly with holo glitter
called Spandex by Blue Cross
(da Halloween pumpkin head polish peeps)
that I had bought 20+ years ago.
I added more holo glitter over a year ago & since then,
it glued itself shut. Blerg.
So after dribbling acetone down the neck to get it under da cap
& gripping it with my Topsy bottle grippers to no avail,
I went to da last resort for opening stuck polish caps...pliers.
I got da bottle open, but da cap broke.
Da only empty polish bottle I could find quickly
was one of da empty Mega Punk bottles
that had some dregs in da corners.
Since blue & pinkish purple don't usually make mud, I took a chance.
Me likey! Now I just need to name this serendipitous polish.
Da original was named Spandex & now it's mixed with Mega Punk...
Punk Pants? Disco Butt? Any suggestions from da peanut gallery?

I stamped using Majestic Blue stamping franken,

I made a bunch of stamping frankens...

Just a few!
Some of them are in other places right now & aren't pictured,
but you can see da light blue, salmon pink & bright red
(da red needs tweaking)
HERE & I'll be showing da gray, black & lavender polishes
not pictured here sooner than later.

Most of them started as a set from Shany
that I got on Amazon for around $1 a bottle.
Some in da set were glitter toppers & some were jellies,
but most were crèmes that had the viscosity to stamp,
tho not all of them had the opacity to show up over black.
I soon fixed that!
I also used some L.A. Splash summer 2014 polishes
that I picked up at Ross.
They had that almost good enuf to stamp quality,
but needed tweaking.

I started by stamping all da polishes onto black glossy paper
to see what each needed tweaked.
I then added white polish to each bottle to up da opacity.
I then stamped them all again. Some were looking good,
so I let them sit while I added pigment to the others.
I used craft pigments & cosmetic pigments, including eye shadow.
Do Me Red needs work as it disappeared
when I stamped it over black polish
even tho it tested well over black paper.
Others may need tweaking too.
Polish making isn't as easy as peeps think!
Some colors are persnickety.
i.e. da bright yellow insists on looking green when stamped over black
plus getting both da opacity & da viscosity right for stamping
without creating a lump of congealed polish can be tricky.
Having putzed about a bit making polish, I
have uber respect for indie makers!
Making one bottle of pretty AND usable polish is challenging.
Producing consistent batches of polish
with minimal batch variants would be HARD.
Plus you have da whole 'create polish that peeps want to buy' issue too.
So I bow down before da beautiful & brilliant lades that make us polish!

>^. .^<

Can I has fish on my claws too?
This is Little Bandita, she lives across da street,
but comes by for snuggles.

Big T Ranch Candles & Soaps ~ Petunia!

Hello Dahlings!

Today I have da polish I fell in love with
while swatching for Big T Ranch last month.

This mani with this perfect polish is SO me!

I started with 2 buttery smooth coats of Petunia
This is how glossy it is with no top coat!

Then I added one coat of Milky Way
You can see that while adding one of Robyn's gitd toppers
slightly changes da texture of Petunia, it doesn't effect da color.
Using your regular glossy top coat will restore da shine.

Looky at all da pretty glitters in Petunia!
It's like having a spring party on mah nails.

my Creative Shop Stamper & JLB silver to stamp my punky nails.

The stamping didn't show well in the dark,
but Milky Way sure did it's thing!

OK...my thumb showed da stamping in the dark. LOL

>^. .^<

You gotta gets da glows just right, Meowmy!

Thanks for stopping by
& go check out all da nifty stuff
has to offer right now, including a SALE!
