The Lady Varnishes ~ Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy"Don't Panic" collection!!!

Hello Dahlings!

May I just say SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Kirsten of The Lady Varnishes released a new collection last Friday,

called Don't Panic!,

based on one of my all time fav book/radio/tv/movies called

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams!!!

Not only did she nail the naming & formula as usual...

she made them ALL glow in the dark!

The two polishes I'm about to show you

were a compensation gift for being an over-eager orderer

& missing out on a Facebook fan group discount code by 5 minutes.

I'm reviewing them because I love them,

not cuz I have to or anything.

So what did I do with the polishes Kirsten sent me...

 TA DA!!!

I love the subtle red sparkly bits in the bright yellow of Babel Fish

& the metallic red plus metallic multichrome bits

in the dark brown squishiness of Battle Shorts.

Alas where I used AWOL on my decals got trimmed during application.

It's fully opaque & cleaned up easily.

 Babel Fish is in your face neon yellow when the lights go out

& Battle Shorts is more subdued with gitd glitters.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this mani & the polishes I used!!!

CNT Presents ~ 26 Great Nail Art Ideas ~ Red & Pink

Hello Dahlings!

This time the Tarts are showing you ideas for red & pink manis.

I did this...

Yeah, I know.

Most of you think Valentine's

when you think about red & pink together.

When do I ever do the 'normal' thing?

My base color is a retired polish called Darkest Love 

from Cuttin' Edge Nails.

I stamped using a prototype stamping polish,

also from Cuttin' Edge Nails.

I used Sugar Bubbles Plate SB 036

from Beautometry.

Sara's prototype stamping polish picked up pretty well

& has a fun pinky purple shimmer to it.

Alas, my nails have gotten long enough again

that the full nail design I used didn't quite fit my nails.

The accent nails are reverse image decals I made

by picking up the image on the stamping head,

letting it dry then adding a thin coat of clear polish.

Once that dried, I colored it the image using a dotting tool.

Once that dried, I added another thin coat of the clear.

Once dry, I trimmed the decals to generally fit around my cuticles

& attached using a thin coat of the clear polish on my nail.

I trimmed the decal from the free edge

& cleaned up & tucked the decal edges using acetone & a brush.

Ciri is underwhelmed.

He thinks I need to do more cat manis.

My Holidays at the Oregon Coast mani

Hello Dahlings!

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you.

I am indeed posting on a non-challenge week!

Over the Christmas/New Year's holiday,

Mr Inky & I went to the Oregon Coast.

We figured we could vegetate there 

just as well as at home & have better scenery.

I did my nails before we left

& for almost 2 weeks I wore this...

 Not my best mani ever, but fun enough.

Hit the Bottle Holo there beautiful!

 Crowd Surf is sorta neon purplish indoors

& a darker red violet in the sun or under uv light.

I was having hit or miss luck with getting the waves

to show up on my nails,

but the whale tale turned out just dandy fine

& the holo sparkle added to the wet & wild effect.

 Blu Lite Special is a gitd dark topper that turns blue in the dark!

Ciri isn't enjoying the cold weather & may just hibernate until spring.

Happy New Year, Dahlings!

Did you have a lovely holiday season?

Mr Inky & I spent ours at the Oregon Coast

getting cold & wet, but we had fun anyway.

To start the New Year,

the Tarts are doing New Year New You manis.

What does this mean?

For me it means being the best me I can be

& last year I had to let my nail painting & blogging slide.

This wasn't the best me, but real life was so crazy busy

I just didn't have the time or the energy

to paint my nails often, let alone blog about them.

Life in 2017 should be more 'normal'.

My goal for this year is to paint my nails more often

& blog at least once a week, more if I can manage it.

My mani for this round...

 A yummy blue violet with blue green shimmer base

& a red/violet iridescent flakie glow in the dark topper

with pink holo stamping.

Yep! This is a ME mani. LOL

& Hit the Bottle Under the Strobe-berry Lights

I used Esmaltes da Kelly plate KN18 for the stamping.

 MGBH is so YUMMY!

It shifts between blue & violet depending on the light,

but isn't a duo chrome. This pic is under my usual LED light.

 This one is with flash & looks much bluer.

The flakies decided to play hide & seek.

I could easily see them with my eyes,

but they hid from my camera.

Nosy Reporter Skills glows blue!

I only used one coat over MGBH

as I was worried 2 coats would hide too much of the shimmer below.

2 coats would have glowed better, but I can live with this.

 This gitd mini is an add-on available

when you buy You're so Predictable.

Each of the different add-on gitd minis

in the Master of All Villainy collection

glow a different color & can be used over any polish.

Alas, our cabin was a pet free zone, so we left Ciri at home.

Cannon Beach was lovely (this is Haystack Rock at sunset),

but not having our fur-babies around is weird.
