CNT Presents ~ 26 Great Nail Art Ideas ~ Pastel Christmas

Hello Dahlings!

For our final mani of 2016,
the Tart's are showing you ideas for a Pastel Christmas!

I did this...

 ...and my editing software chopped my pic off. Blerg!
Anywho, I did a bottle brush gradient by applying each color
using the brush & overlapping them slightly to blend them.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

I sealed it all in with a coat of Seche Vite.

 Cotton Granny Panties white franken;
Boogie All Night Long, Feel The Funk,
Get Down Tonight & On The Flip Side;

Oh yeah, the Poptastic Remix glows in the dark!

Ciri wishes you a relaxing holiday season!

Swatch-a-rama time feat. Cuttin' Edge!

Hello Dahlings!

What? Wait! This isn't a Tart's challenge week?!?
Nope, it's my getting out a post
that I should have done months ago.

Sara at Cuttin' Edge released some fun polishes
during the height of the Pokémon Go! craze
& she sent me a few to swatch & review.

I got the swatching done in a timely manor,
now for the review...

 Pikachu is right on target!
This is 2 dabbed on coats over a retired CE polish (Hot Wheels)
& the red circles, black triangles & whiskers
plus the metallic gold lightening bolts & whiskery bits in clear base
with small gold holo circles & sheer iridescent flakies
totally reminded me of Pikachu.
Even if you aren't now or never were into Pokémon (like me)
this is a fun topper that would scream CHRISTMAS!!!
when applied over a dark green base color.
(I did this swatch over a liquid latex base coat
& topped it with Orly's fast dry top coat. No Gellish needed!)

~~~
 Aquaman is a gorgeous pearl blue green semi-sheer polish
with a green shimmer & fine gold flecks
that that needed 3 thin coats for opacity
& to minimize that pearl finish tendency to streak.
It's a tad bit persnickety in that you don't want to over stroke it
or you may get streaks, but paying attention will pay off big time
in giving you a beautiful mani!
(I did this swatch over my regular franken base coat
& topped it with Orly's fast dry top coat.)
~~~

Glameow is my fav of this trio!
One dabbed coat with it's small silver holo & black hexes,
blue holo diamonds
& fine gold holo dust with silver whiskers in a clear base
it was a perfect pairing over Aqua-man.
I loved this combo so much that I wore it for a week!
(I added a coat of Seche Vite to protect the glittery goodness.
No Gellish needed!)

All 3 of these beauties are currently available
& I think Glameow would make an awesome New Year's mani!

 Psst! Hey Ziggy!

 Who dat? I hears you, but can't sees you!

Did you calls me, Meowme?

CNT Presents ~ 26 Great Nail Art Ideas ~ Christmas Preparations

Hello Dahlings!

It's December already!
My how time flies when one is crazy busy.

This time the Tarts are sharing mani ideas
that represent getting ready for the holidays.

We don't do a big Christmas around the Inky house anymore,
just a smidge of decorations & stocking stuffers on Christmas morning.
But I do remember when we did a lot more
& one of my fav winter holiday traditions as a child
was decorating the tree while snow fell outside.

 I've been doing a bit of traveling of late
& wore this fun mani for over 2 weeks.
I used a piece of cosmetic sponge to do the angled gradient
& stamped using Creative Shop plate 36.

 I started with  my usual franken base coat
& then added one coat of Cotton Granny Panties franken white.
I used The Lady Varnishes Indigo, Stormy & Shy Violet.
For the stamping, I used Hit the Bottle My Suitor Wears Pewter.
To top it all off, I used a coat of Seche Vite.

Don't you just love the glow of holiday décor at night?

>^. .^<

Can I helps decorate this tree?
How about some birdy feathers & cat nip balls?

CNT Presents ~ 26 Great Nail Art Ideas ~ Winter Warmth

Happy Turkey Weekend Dahlings!

For those of you that don't live in the US...
Happy Friday!

This time around the Tarts are doing manis that show winter warmth.

I did this...

 To me winter warmth means hand made gifts
to warm both the body & the heart,
so I went with hand stitched stamping.

 The Lady Varnishes The Ghost with the Most
I stamped using Creative Shop Plate Ukraine

I got the glow in the dark option
as I do whenever Kristen offers it.
Look at that awesome detail in this image!

>^. .^<

Having a personal lap warmer doesn't hurt either
when it comes to staying toasty!

The Crumpet's Nail Tarts Present ~ 26 Great Nail Art Ideas ~ Over a Black Base

Hello Dahlings!

This time the Tarts are doing nail art over a black base.
Easy peasy, nice & squeezy!

I did this...

I did this not long before Halloween,
so that's where my design went.

My black base is 2 coats of a franken I made
that contains the leftovers of good black polishes.
You know how when you get past the half way point
in a bottle of polish, it gets harder to get
a usable amount of polish on the brush?
This is my solution to those half empty bottles
of frequently used colors like black & white.

Black base franken ~ Silk Boxers
Sinful Colors ~ Got a Bat-attitude

After applying my franken base coat & 2 coats of Silk Boxers,
I added 2 coats of Got a Bat-attitude
& avoided fishing out any lil bats.
Then I full brush dabbed Bat-chelor in Paradise on all my nails.
Most chunky polish require lots of fishing
to get those big shapes out of the bottle, but not with BinP.
If anything, I was having to put bats & moons back in the bottle
for the nails I was going to be stamping on!

with Midnight Pumpkin to stamp the Jack O' Lantern faces
& sealed it all in with a coat of Seche Vite on the stamped nails
before adding a coat of Seche Vite.
The tips of the bat wings were a lil pokey,
but this glitter smoothing top coat did the trick.

Yeah, this worked out well!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas ~ Blue & Silver

Hello Dahlings!

My nail life has obviously been derailed for the last 6 months,
but I'm hoping to get it back on track by participating in the
NEW Crumpet's Nail Art Tarts 26 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge.

This new challenge is the 2016-17 version
of the 40 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge
that I failed to complete earlier this year.

Our 1st prompt is Blue & Silver, so I did this:

Quaint Paints is a new to me brand & me likey!
This is 2 thin coats of Quantum Fizz-ics
over my usual franken base.
I added funky French tips using
Stripe Rite from Sally's Beauty Supply.
I then sealed it all up with 2 coats of
Seche Vite Instant Gel Effect Top Coat.
I added the 2nd top coat layer
due to the points on the stars being a wee bit pokey.

Oh yeah...Quantum Fizz-ics does this...

Glow-in-the-dark is my fav polish type
& it's not just for Halloween!

>^. .^<

You didn't think I'd forget to include a kitty pic, did you?

Yeah, Ciri is still His Royal Tininess of Cute-i-tude.

I'll be back next week with a review
of some uber fun Cuttin' Edge polishes!

Thanks for stopping by
& please share the luvs with the other Tarts!

Anonymous Lacquer ~ The Customs Colors Trio!

Hello Dahlings!

No, nothing catastrophic has happened to me.
I've just been buried under real life.
Lots of work plus dejunking around the house
have sucked up the majority of my waking hours
& left me with little energy to paint my nails,
let alone take pics & write blog posts.
I've been managing one simple mani a week.
Pathetic, I know.

Anywho, back in March, Anonymous Lacquer held a contest
in the FB group Adorably Anonymous.
Those of us who've had Mildred make us custom polishes,
posted pics of said polishes & the group voted for their favorites.

My Impossible Dreams WON!
It was close and the 2nd & 3rd place polishes are also gorgeous.
Once that was all decided, Mil put our customs together in a trio
& sent them to us for swatching in early April. I got that done.
What I didn't get done before falling off the face of the blog-o-sphere
was my blog post. Good thing Mil still has them available!

On to the pics...
All swatch pics show 2 perfectly butterlicious coats
over liquid latex with a coat of FDTC.
The bejeweled masks are an ordering goodie from Mil.

I'm pleased to present...Perez Pink!
This nigh on neon linear pink holo
is the love child of my bootiful friend Nicole.

If you love pink like Nicole does,
you want this for your stash!

~~~
Next in this luscious line up is...701 Fahrenheit!
Anita dreamed up this bright coral linear creation
that plays chameleon both with lighting & skin tones.
On Anita & Nicole it looks bright neon.
On my pale skin it takes on a darker hue.
On any skin tone it will shift between pinkish orange
& orangish pink depending on the light.
I have a secret passion for orangey polishes.
This one feeds the need!
~~~

And last, but certainly not least...My very own Impossible Dreams!
This custom came about after I putzed about for over a year
trying to create a neon purple linear holo.
I couldn't quite manage it, but Mildred is the BEST
at making impossible polish dreams come true.

Just look at all that pinky purply holo goodness!!!

~~~
I attempted a radial gradient with these 3 amigos.
I failed at getting the circular part done correctly,
but it didn't matter as the polishes were perfect!
All three of these must have beauties are available at Anonymous Lacquer
as singles or in a moola saving Customs Colors Trio.
You know you want them...admit it!
 >^. .^<
To make up for my depriving y'all of your regular doses of Ciri,
I give you...
Sleeping Toes of Cuteness!!!
I hope to start posting regularly again soon, at least weekly.
I've a few pics in the vault to tide us over
until I can get my act together.
Thanks for hanging in there with me!
