New Hair & Nails to Match!

Hello Dahlings!

Yep it's that time again.
My last color had mostly faded out
& I was sporting a very trendy, but not very me silver & pastel mane.
Da silver is da natural color of most of my hair anymore.

So Mr Inky & I spent last Saturday doing this...

 For da life of me, I could NOT get da back to photo true!
My bangs are what it all looks like with some blue streaks.

 We bleached my roots on Friday.
We used assorted leftover colors from da past year to color.
Mr Inky has had...um...issues in da past
when it came to picking where each color goes
so I don't get 2 sections of da same color next to each other.
So he came up with this clever paint by numbers plan.
It worked!
Next time, I'll write da numbers on da clips in Sharpie.
Da lil bits of sticky note liked to fall off.

Almost 5 hours later I was all gooped up
& couldn't see diddly squat since I can't wear my glasses
while coloring unless I want colored glasses too.

Gah!
If I can get Mr Inky to take a good pick soon,
I'll add it so y'all can see how freaking awesome my hair looks.

On to da nails...

 I did better with my nail pics. LOL

 This is 2 buttery coats of Black Widow.
It's a charcoal to black with a strong linear rainbow
that shows midnight blue on da inside.
I added a coat of SH Dries Instantly at this point.

 I used this plate with Chromeo & my beloved Creative Shop Stamper.
I don't remember where I got this plate,
but I know I wanted it for da leopard tears.
Maybe Cuttin' Edge or possible She Sells Seashells?
Anywho, I made reverse decals & cut them in half.

Duh!

~~~
And now for something completely different...
Some of you may be aware that there has been a situation brewing
in da nail polish community for da past few months
that blew up this past week into a cluster fuck of a circle jerk
concerning Mentality Nail Polish causing damage to some peeps nails
& da owner's epic failure to handle it in a satisfying manner.
I'm not going to rehash da plethora of info & chaos.
I'll just link you to da best info I currently know of,
as these peeps have sorted, questioned & verified
as much as possible to help clarify this train wreck in progress.
As for me, I do own da Neon Opaques & some of da Neon Glazes,
as well as their Black & White Opaques plus da original Glazes.
To date I haven't experienced any negative reactions to this brand,
but I don't use them for base color, just nail art.
My stamping & other nail art goes over several coats of polish
(base, 2 coats of color, top coat) plus my acrygel overlays.
So for now I will use them, but if I notice any changes in my nails
or to da color/odor/consistency of any Mentality polish I own
I will dispose of them properly.
As for you, my Dahlings, if you own any Mentality polishes,
especially ones from da dates mentioned in da above linked articles,
& have experienced any type of reaction ...GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR!
If you tend to be sensitive to stuff
or are just worried that you could react,
please check with your local waste service provider
on how to properly dispose of nail polish in your area.
Polish is flammable & puts off toxic fumes
when burned while either wet or dry
so is classified a hazardous material.
You can't just chuck it in da bin & think good riddance.
This horrible mess is NOT normal for da Indie Polish World!
This is a case of one egomaniacal asshole fucking up
& not owning his shiz.
I've shown you peeps quite a few indie polishes over da years
& have never had any issue with any brand
that wasn't be quickly & easily resolved.
Sinking glitter, pigment shifts etc suck, but they do happen.
Every indie I've had to contact (there haven't been many)
was horrified that their product had even a minor issue
& my polishes were promptly replaced or credited.
 I've gotten to know some makers pretty well too
& these ladies are uber conscientious
about both the quality & safety of da products they create.
Their customer service is most excellent as well.
This is why you see their pretties on my claws & blog.
So please don't let one asshole ruin your love of indie polish!
>^. .^<
*face paw*
Peeps isn't supposed to get declawed any more den cats is.
Dat is just all kinds of WRONG!
Take care of your precious selves, my Dahlings
& thanks for stopping by!
CNT 52 Week PNM ~ TV & Free Choice (feat. Cuttin Edge)
Hello Dahlings!
This week da Tart's are doing manis
with a TV theme &/or any polish we want!
For me this week was a no brainer...
 The Walking Dead may not be starting up until October,
but their prequel series Fear The Walking Dead debuted last night!
Methinks me likey!
Da loverlicous Sara of Cuttin Edge Nails is also a fan of TWD,
So I used her polishes for this mani & she approved!
 Da line up ~ Cuttin Edge Junk Food, XOXO
& a prototype black stamping polish.
Don't panic dahlings!
Sara closed da shop so she could take a break,
get her polish space enlarged & reorganized,
& spend time with her family.
She fully intends to reopen Cuttin' Edge Nails!
I will let y'all know when her grand re-opening event is nigh.
 I stamped da lil TV from Vivid Lacquer plate VL004
 Da TWD logo came from this Sugar Bubbles plate SB 010
and da zombie from this Sugar Bubbles plate SB 001
I of course used my beloved Creative Shop Stamper.
I used a small dotter to do da drippy blood.
more about this particular tool I was using to come
I sealed in da horror show with Sally Hansen Dries Instantly.
I don't often do fandom manis, but this time I just couldn't resist!
>^. .^<
 Oh noes...I haz zombie cats!
 What?
Ziggy is eating Luna's brains!
And now Luna is eating Ziggy's brains!
Oh wait...never mind, they're just grooming each other.
Thanks for stopping by
& now please go eat da brains of da other Tarts!
HPB Presents ~ NEON!!!
Hello Dahlings!
It's time for da Hobby Polish Bloggers monthly nail art challenge
& for August we're showing off our NEON manis!
I LOVE NEON!!!
So I did this...
 Me likey mah flutterby nails a lot!
Da line up ~ Orly On The Edge, Be Daring & Risky Behavior
I got da whole set on a direct from Orly special,
but you may still be able to find them
at your local Sally's Beauty Supply;
Polish Me To Go Violetta, Anonymous Lacquer Magik,
Hit the Bottle As Black as Night & Polish Me To Go Snow Glow
plus da bit of cosmetic sponge I used.
Alas, while PMTG's store was still up da last time I checked,
everything listed was sold out & I don't know why
da maker disappeared or if she'll be back.
Great sadness as she made most excellent gitd polish.
 I started with a gradient of da Orly 2015 neons.
These lean more crelly than earlier neons from them,
so it took 3-4 coats of sponged color to reach good opacity.
White undies might have helped, but I opted to go commando.
Not da most blinding neons in my stash, but still fun bright colors.
I added a coat of Violetta over da gradient
& it smoothed out da demarcation lines.
 I then added a coat of Magik!
While it did add lovely rainbows,
it also dulled da neoniness of da Orly's a wee bit.
I can live with this cuz...RAINBOWS!!!
 I stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM-XL14,
ABAN & my beloved Creative Shop Stamper.
I bought both da stamping polish & da CSS from Beautometry.
 Oh looky!
Da neoniness comes back under uv light.
Why am I using a uv lamp for pics?
Cuz this!
I had so much fun with this mani, both day & night,
that I wore it for almost a week & didn't want to take it off
even tho' I had yesterday's challenge mani to do.
>^. .^<
Well done, Meowmy!
I luvs it when you paints your claws
so they glows like my bootiful eyes.
Thanks for stopping by
& please go visit da other
CNT 52 Week PNM ~ Tweed & Pale Pink
Hello Dahlings!
This week da Tarts are doing tweed &/or pale pink nails.
I did this...
 I guess it works, sorta.
I started with 2 coats of Revlon Popular for my Pale Pink.
I'm not a big wearer of pastels,
but da silver glitter helped.
 I stamped using Uber Chic plate 3-03
and this #16 a Qin An stamping polish from Born Pretty Store
They were having a sale & I got 4 colors to try.
They are decently opaque
& da 18ml bottle makes da regular price worth it.
Methinks I'll be trying more of these over time!
OMGlob!
Da Crumpet's Nail Tarts 52 Week Pick N' Mix Challenge has only 5 weeks left!
Where, oh where, has da last year gone?
Don't despair, my dahlings!
Da ever brilliant Debbie Crumpet has devised a cunning plan
to continue da Tarty fun after this challenge ends.
Stay tuned nail art fans!
>^. .^<
 Ziggy would like to know why Missy won't let him clean her.
 She likes him better when he's asleep & keeping his tongue to himself.
 Can we get one of these at home?
Me likey!
 I miss my cat tree.
You're packing. Does this mean we're going home soon?
Missy & my cats do fine when they're together,
but Missy is used to being an only cat
& finds having 4 others around
to be a wee bit disconcerting.
Thanks for stopping by
& please go show da luvies
to da other Tarts!
What Color are My Nails?
Hello Dahlings!
Alas, this mani sat in da vault too long,
but I'm gonna share it with you anyway.
 What color are my nails?
You may or may not remember
da brouhaha over a pic of a dress earlier this year.
It was an over exposed pic of a dark blue dress with black fringe trim
that in da pic looked like a white dress with gold trim...to some peeps.
Many a fight broke out over who was seeing da dress colors correctly.
I saw white & gold.
Mr Inky saw black & blue plus he got to feel it too when he disagreed to me.
That humble pie tastes nasty when you try to eat it around your foot. Blerg.
 Da line up ~ Dam Nail Polish Blue/White & Black/Gold
Da Dams came in a trio with a metallic gold called 24 Karats
to go under da semi sheer Black/Gold.
This is 2 buttery smooth coats of Blue/White.
It & da Black/Gold are thermals.
Da weather was already getting too warm when I did this mani,
so even with dipping my paw into ice water
getting good pics of da cold blue was iffy.
 2 coats of Black/Gold commando on mah thumb.
 I used da chevron stencils to represent da black/gold chevron trim on da dress.
This pic is after several minutes of soaking my paw in cold water. Brrr.
 This is after a quick soak under do hot water tap.
My fingers hadn't quite warmed up yet,
so you get to see a smidge of blue creeping back in.
These polishes are no longer on da website,
but Dam Nail Polish still has lots of good stuff to choose from
>^. .^<
You hoomans is so silly fussing over a pic
that's not even of a cat!
Thanks for stopping by!
CNT 52 Week PNM ~ Tribal &/or Hot Pink
Hello Dahlings!
This week da Tart's are doing tribal &/or hot pink manis.
I did this...
 I liked da gradient, but my stamping sorta failed.
Toopid hot weather.
 Da line up ~ China Glaze Purple Panic & You Drive Me Coconuts;
L.A. Colors Pumpin' Pink, no name gitd from a cheap set
plus da bit of cosmetic sponge I used to do da gradient.
 I did da stamping using plate QA15,
& of course my beloved Creative Shop Stamper.
I think my stamping issues are mostly due
to da hot weather making da polish dry too fast.
I've stamped da lil cats in da past no prob
& while it's da 1st time I've used da HTB black,
I haven't had any issues with any of da other colors.
Oh well, at least it did this...
 I did putz with da no name gitd
by adding gitd pigments to up its umph.
They're still sheer tints
& are good for adding gitd to any mani.
>^. .^<
 So last Tuesday night, I hear this noise in my back yard.
Even with flash, this was da best pic of what was creeping about.
Then on Thursday night, I heard more noises.
This time, the noise was coming
from my neighbor's Asian Pear tree...
 Well hello there lil opossum!
 He has a buddy, but doesn't want to share.
Opossums make this awful screeching noise when ticked off,
& boy were they ticked off!
 I win!
 Fine, I'm outta here.
 I'll go find my own fruit tree.
These aren't ripe yet anyway.
I know these aren't da best pics,
but I was taking them blind
by aiming my phone w/da flash on
at da noises & hoping I'd catch da action.
It's was nigh on pitch black out there!
Thanks for stopping by
& please go show da luvs
to da other Tarts!
