12 Days of Christmas Nail Art Challenge ~ Snowflakes

Hello Dahlings!

We're on day 7...Snowflakes! Me being me, I just couldn't go with the usual imagery, so I thought about snow & how it falls here in the Great North Wet. Eastern WA ST gets tons of snow & so do both the Cascade & Olympic mountains, but in the low lands of western WA between the 2 sets of mountains...not so much. We do get it & sometimes it even stays for a few days, but mostly it melts when it hits the ground or as soon as the sun comes up.

Tonight's line up: Orly Dayglow, Essie Pure Pearlfection, L.A. Colors Electricity &
Black Pearl, Orly Liquid Vinyl & Sally Hansen Pixel Pretty.

I've shown Dayglow before, so I skipped ahead to the gradient I did using Pure Pearlfection, Electricity & Black Pearl. I would have been almost happy to stop here cuz this is so pretty in person! But I did have the challenge to think of & I'm not very good at leaving well enuf alone.

Ta Da! My Seattle Snowflakes...melting as they hit the ground. lol I made the stylized snowflakes using a dotting tool & tiny detail brush with Dayglow. The shiny bits in the center of the snowflakes & the rain drops are from the craft store & are self adhesive. The rain drops come on double stick adhesive foam to give them dimension when used on paper, but the foam had the drops sitting about 1/8" above the surface of my nails & the points kept getting caught on stuff. (Note to self: remove foam layer when using paper embellishments on nails.) I was able to salvage the rain drops sans foam when removing them, so I'll be able to use them again. Over all I loved the concept & would have left it on more than one day if I'd removed the foam before using them on my nails. Live & learn! The umbrella was painted using my short striper with Liquid Vinyl, Dayglow & Pixel Pretty. Most folks think we NWers live under unbrellas, but peeps born here or who have lived here for many years rarely use them. If the rain is dumping enuf to want an umbrella, its usually too windy to bother. lol
