Weird Wednesday Comparison ~ Purple Thermals ft. Creative Shop Plate 01 Reveiw

Hello Dahlings!

This week I have 5 purple thermals to show you
along with another review of the Creative Shop Stamping Plates.

This is a pic heavy post, so go potty,
grab a beverage & get comfy.
Y'all ready?

Not a dupe in the bunch, tho
this isn't as easy to discern from the bottles.

& The Devil Wears Polish Sweet Pea.

All nails have 2 coats of polish over my franken base
with a coat of Orly Sec N' Dry.

When cold, all of these polishes show their purple.

When warm they show either blue or pink.

Pinky ~ Razzleberry
A lovely blue violet when cold that shifts to bright blue when warm.
A smooth shimmery jelly that needs 3 coats for opacity
& would be great fun with nail art techniques
like pond manis & lead lighting where translucent polishes work well.
I've had this polish nigh on a year & the shift is still strong.

Ring ~ Calypso
KPT is well know for their quality thermals & this one is no exception.
When cold it's a rich dark plum & when warm it shifts to dark mauve.
The holo glitters sparkle thru the shift to add to the fun.

Middle ~ Jam & Jelly Oh My!
Purple with pink shimmer when cold
& pink with a more subtle shimmer when warm.
Another older polish that still performs well.
It's no longer available,
but PMS carries quite few thermals to choose from.

Index ~ True Blurple
A warm red violet when cold & a bright cold blue when cold
that shows blue violet during it's shift.
It's also jam pack with asst colors of holo glitter.
Alas, Super Nails is closing,
but remaining stock is 50% off while supplies last.

Thumb ~ Sweet Pea
This pastel linear holo is lavender when cold & a soft pink when warm.
Alas, TDWP is closed, but there's still hope
that someday Tami will make her fabulous polishes for the world again.

The shift on Sweet Pea is subtle, but it's there.

The thing about thermals is while they're fun to wear,
they generally have a shelf life of 6-12 months
before they stop changing color.
My advice is to buy them in minis when possible
or wear them often if only big bottles are available.
Either way, pick ones that you like the base color of
since that's what you'll have when the magic expires.

Onto the nail art review!

I used Hit the Bottle Moonshine & the oh so pretty
All nails got another coat of Orly Sec N' Dry after the stamping dried.

Some hits & misses, but I was trying out some of the finer detailed images
& they take a fast yet delicate hand to transfer well.
I'm still practicing, but when I get it right, it's worth it.

 Bingo!
This marble vein pattern will look great over any polish.
I got it right, but even if I had missed a few bits,
it's the type of design that it wouldn't matter.

 Another win for me!
I love this fine line maze pattern
& was happy to get 99% of it to transfer well.
Remember, the finer the lines,
the less pressure needed to pick up the design
& you have to mover faster to get the design
on your nail before the polish dries.

This is a very fine lined floral design,
but you can't really tell from this pic.
I will def need to practice with this one before wearing it again.

These are the upside down tops of peacock feathers
& the centers look as tho' they might be lil skulls.
I got most of the lil feathery bits.
This design would look really kewl done right side up,
in gold, over a blue-green chunky glitter polish.

I have a fondness for argyle,
but didn't do a good job on this nail.
The diamonds came out fine,
but the fine dashed lines that crisscross
across the diamonds didn't want to come out to play.

Over all, I'm still enjoying my exploration of these plates.
Yes, some of the designs take advanced stamping ability to use,
but I'm fine with this as a big reason I love nail art
is the constant drive to improve my skills
as I pretty up my claws.

>^. .^<

 I no need to practice...

...I'se purrfect as is.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. The Creative Shop plate is nice.I really want some thermals and was puzzled last night about what stamping polish I would use because it would have to go with both colors.

    1. You want a color that will contrast with both & the basics (black, white, silver & gold) will work with most thermal color combos. Super Nails is having a closing sale, so I'd start there. The other 3 available brands are all good with both Big T & PMS having a proven decent shelf life.
